Princess Bride

A classic fantasy / romance / adventure / spoof. Filled with some of the best one-liners such as "inconceivable," and "...you killed my father, prepare to die."

This is a movie that chalks one up to the power of true love. It has everything one needs: action, adventure, sword fighting, a giant, and of course the love of the masked man and Buttercup.

My wife hates this movie, which may suggest that this movie is not for everyone, or that she does not appreciate the artistic qualities of a movie that can weave together swamp rats, and wedding ceremonies in the same film.

I give this movie the rating:
Rent to Own

Elmo in Grouchland

This is a great movie, if you happen to be three or under. My daughter loves it, my wife and I do not. Of course it was not written and directed for our particular taste, so perhaps we are asking for too much.

Elmo stars as himself in this movie, so if you are a big Elmo fan this is the one for you...almost an hour and a half of this little red guy running around yelling "It's my blankie!"

Some redeeming qualities are visits by Bert and Ernie, and Mandy Patinkin as the villain, which is emphasized by his terribly bushy eyebrows.

I give this Movie a Rating of:
Will watch, but only if my daughter starts crying actual tears.
